P.A.S.S. Anti-Theft System

The PIN Activated Security System (P.A.S.S.) prevents the engine from starting without a valid PIN entry. The four-digit PIN can be entered on the instrument cluster or 7-inch Ride Command display.

The PIN Activated Security System (PASS) is available on the following utility vehicles (UTVs):

  • Model Year 2021 RZR Pro XP and RZR Pro XP 4*
  • Model Year 2022 RZR Pro XP and RZR Pro XP 4
  • Model Year 2022 RZR Trail S 900
  • Model Year 2022 RZR Trail S 1000

*Model year 2021 RZR Pro XP vehicles produced after Dec. 7, 2020, come with P.A.S.S. enabled and ready to use. Model year 2021 RZR Pro XP models produced before Dec. 7, 2020, can have the P.A.S.S. feature added with a electronic control module (ECM) and instrument cluster update. This can be performed by an authorized Polaris Dealer. To determine whether your 2021 RZR Pro XP already has PASS, check the settings on your instrument cluster or touchscreen display (if equipped). Settings will be labeled as "Require PIN to start." If no PASS options are available, see your authorized Polaris Dealer to add the PASS feature.

Note: There is no subscription fee for P.A.S.S., but your dealer may charge for the labor required to enable the feature.

If  PASS is enabled and the incorrect PIN is entered, the engine will not turn over or attempt to start. The PIN can be entered incorrectly five times on the instrument cluster before locking out the user. Once locked out, a key cycle will reset the counter. On the Ride Command display, unlimited attempts are allowed. If the Personal PIN is lost or forgotten, contact your dealer for your vehicle’s Master PIN.

The P.A.S.S. feature can be manually enabled and disabled on your vehicle’s gauge cluster or touchscreen display.

Note: P.A.S.S. is intended to be a supplementary ignition interlock method and does not enable any vehicle or GPS tracking capability.
