At just 22-years-old, Jessy Nelson was living the ultimate racer’s dream. He was a rising motocross star, racing for a national team and winning. At a young age he had already overcome hardships when he lost his thumb and then later breaking his femur while racing motocross. Those set-backs only further fueled his drive to be the very best. But then in August of 2016, Jessy suffered a paralyzing injury while racing in the AMA Pro Motocross series. He broke his T4 and T5 vertebrae and stretched his spinal cord. Since that fateful day Jessy has underwent surgeries and countless hours of therapy. He has made some progress, and while his motocross dreams are likely over, his drive and determination have never stopped. Now, through the help of Polaris Off-Road, Jessy finds himself back in the dirt and back in his happy place. His specially-equipped RZR has allowed him to once again go and do some of the things he has always loved and to remain fiercely independent. But more importantly, Polaris RZR has allowed him to continue pursue his racing dreams. Competing in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, Jessy feels he left some victories on the table when he could no longer race motocross, and now he’s coming to get them.
